A team transitioning between frameworks, navigating AI adoption, remote work challenges, and strategic hiring decisions with the team lead as the central point of change.
I worked with the same team and team lead through a transition from the BG5 framework into OC16. This experience clearly highlighted how different frameworks illuminate different needs within the same group and over time, the work created a deeper level of trust and respect.
When the team discovered that two traits were missing from their Core Team Strengths, their first impulse was to test this insight practically by incorporating the BG5 chart into their hiring process. A key part of my role was helping the team lead understand which conversations to have at which level ensuring strategic topics landed in the right domain before reaching leadership, rather than creating noise at the top.
The strategic picture that emerged was clear: the most immediate opportunity sat at the leadership level, where decisions on budget, AI adoption, and team growth were still unresolved. The analysis gave the team lead a structured foundation to act from when the timing was right.
